Roofing

Alberta Construction Association

The ACA leads Alberta’s construction industry in government advocacy, public relations, industry practices and partnerships, and promotion of a skilled workforce.

ARCA - Alberta Roofing Contractors Association

The ARCA promotes the development of the roofing industry and enhances the public’s understanding of the industry’s contributions to meeting the needs of home and building owners, developers and property managers. ARCA also plays an important advocacy role for the industry and is affiliated with the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association and the National Roofing Contractors Association in the U.S. Additionally, it participates in an advisory capacity in government and industry-related organizations.

CCA - Calgary Construction Association

CCA promotes excellence in construction of building and honorable practice in the conduct of business. Founded in 1944 and representing approximately 500 member companies, the association provides a number of services.

CASMA - Canadian Asphalt Shingle Manufacturers' Association

The CASMA was primarily established to serve and promote the best interests of all stakeholders in the Canadian asphalt shingle industry; namely manufacturers, consumers, suppliers, distributors and employees.

 

As well as being an advocate for the industry, CASMA has always sought to provide public and free education to the end users, i.e. homeowners.

CRCA - Canadian Roofing Contractors Association

CRCA consists of companies actively engaged in Canada in the roofing and related sheet metal contracting business, along with companies engaged in manufacturing or supplying materials and services used in any branch of the roofing and sheet metal industry.

ECA - Edmonton Construction Association

The Edmonton Construction Association (ECA) was incorporated in 1931 and is today the largest Non-Profit Construction Association serving the Commercial, Institutional and Industrial Construction Industry in Western Canada.

NRCA - National Roofing Contractors Association (USA)

NRCA is one of the construction industry’s most respected trade associations and the voice and leading authority in the roofing industry for information, education, technology and advocacy in the US.

OIRCA - Ontario Industrial Roofing Contractors Association

Founded in 1964, the Ontario Industrial Roofing Contractors Association (OIRCA) is a professional group of roofing and sheet metal contractors, product suppliers/ manufacturers, building science consultants/engineers and industry members who are interested in roofing related activities.

RCAM - Roofing Contractors Association of Manitoba

RCAM is an association that is almost entirely run on a volunteer basis. Their entire membership meets on a very regular basis to discuss the issues that face the roofing industry in Manitoba. They have been quite successful in addressing issues such as specifications, workplace safety, tendering practices, workers compensation and labour relations. They are the recognized resource and authority for the roofing industry in the Province of Manitoba.

The SCA represents the construction industry in Saskatoon offering industry information and expertise.

SCAA - Siding Contractors Association of Alberta

The Siding Contractors Association of Alberta is a non profit construction trade association that is focused on improvement and advancement of the siding industry in Alberta.

SRCA - Saskatchewan Roofing Contractors Association

The SRCA strives to be the principal voice of the roofing industry in Saskatchewan. They also work to ensure their members adhere to the highest industry standards.

AWCA - Alberta Wall & Ceiling

The Alberta Wall & Ceiling Association (AWCA) is a non-profit organization. AWCA’s Mission is to serve the Alberta wall and ceiling industry by providing and promoting technical information and training to our membership, to the construction industry and consumers at large; simply stated: “To Better the Industry.”

AWCI - Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry

The mission of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry is to provide services and undertake activities that enhance the members’ ability to operate a successful business.

 

AWCI has more than 2,000 members that are primarily wall and ceiling contractors, product suppliers or product manufacturers in all 50 states and many countries. The contractor portion of the membership accounts for 50 percent of related construction volume in the United States.

BCWCA - British Columbia Wall and Ceiling Association

British Columbia Wall and Ceiling Association is a non-profit provincial trade association of professionals serving a wide ranging membership of drywall and stucco contractors, manufacturers, suppliers,(GSD’s) and labour. Our primary mandate is providing training to apprentices in our industry and we offer apprenticeship programs including the RED SEAL trade – Wall & Ceiling Installer.

Building Codes

Alberta Building Codes & Standards

The building discipline of Safety Services is responsible for establishing and interpreting the Alberta Building Code, standards and respective regulations under the Safety Codes Act. Municipal Affairs works in partnership with the Safety Codes Council to develop and provide relevant information to the building industry, designers and authorities having jurisdiction.

The Building Standards Unit (BSU) of the Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing (CPSP) supports building owners, industry, designers, municipalities, building officials, the fire service and other code users in the development of safe, healthy, habitable buildings.
